Bi-Weekly Game Oct.22nd, Results

Game One 7 Players

Dismal showing at our game last night.  Only seven players (out of a mailing list of over forty!).   The first game was brutal with Steve Stepp calling my Aces (top pair) with K 7 off and catching a seven to win my all in.  Keith wasn't able to catch a break all night losing with the better hand.

1st      Todd Smith      $60
2nd      Steve Stepp     $20
3rd      Ron Fechner     $10
Bubble   UPS Randy

During the break we (me, the bubble boy and Keith) made a pizza run to Village Pizza in LaGrange and it was piping hot and hit the spot.  By the time we got back the game was over.

Game Two 5 Players

With only five players we decided to raise the entry fee to $20.

1st      Ron Fechner     $70
2nd      UPS Randy       $30

Bubble   Keith

Player of the Year Rules and Numbers

Posted by Randall Bott On 9:05 PM 0 comments

I spoke to Keith last night and he suggested a couple rules about POY points.  For a game like Scott Chislers' to count for POY points we have to have at least five members of our group attend and they have to be at least 50% of the players.

The battle of the bracelet night meets both of those criteria so those games count.  So we go back to the original POY points.  Here they are:

Since the creation of this website we have had six games.  One point is given for every dollar earned.  So far these are the results:

Todd Smith      180  2 Cashes**
UPS Randy       140  4 Cashes
Matt Davis      120  2 Cashes
Steve Stepp      80  1 Cash
George Lee       80  1 Cash

Player of the Year Revised

Posted by Randall Bott On 11:11 PM 0 comments

I spoke to Keith today and he doesn't think we should count Scott Chislers' games in our points.  We should only have our games count.  That makes sense.

Without Scott's Battle for the Bracelet night the results with four games played are:

UPS Randy       100  3 Cashes
Matt Davis       80  1 Cash
Matt Kocsis      70  1 Cash
Ryan Ksenich     70  1 Cash
Scott Nardi      30  1 Cash
Kevin Chisler    30  1 Cash
Todd Smith       20  1 Cash
Randy Patterson  20  1 Cash
Chad             20  1 Cash
Kate Patterson   10  1 Cash
?*               10  1 Cash

Bi-Weekly Game Oct. 8th, Results

Posted by Randall Bott On 3:51 PM 0 comments

Game One 14 players

Good turn out with fourteen players.

The first hand I got pocket sevens and bet out with only Kate calling.  I know that whenever Kate calls I'm in trouble.  I got a seven on the flop but still wasn't comfortable against Kate.  I got the last seven to give me quads on the river getting some chips off Kate.  I know against Kate I need quads or better to get chips.

At the other table Matt was getting cards and raking in chips.  Kevin was new to me and it was hard to get a read on him.  Matt played very well and took first place.  Congratulations Matt Davis.

1st      Matt Davis      $80
2nd      Kevin Chisler   $30
3rd      UPS Randy       $20
4th      Kate            $10
Bubble   Scott Chisler

Game Two 10 Players

The second game had ten players so we decided to have one table.  To do that we had to add the circular table to the end of the long table.  This essentially was the kiddie table.  Keith, Matt and Chad were at that table so it seemed appropriate.

Having ten players was different with Kelly going out before dealing twice.  I was playing well but the river was very good to me and I placed first

1st      UPS Randy      $70
2nd      Todd           $20
3rd      ?*             $10
Bubble   Keith

Battle for the Bracelet: The Game

Posted by Randall Bott On 12:27 PM 0 comments

The Warm Up Game

$10 Buy-In
13 Players

The game was held in Scott Chisler's garage and slated to start at 7pm.  The game started promptly at 7:30 and the theme of the night was hitting the river with one-outers.

I was knocked out early when I thought I could push Kim out with my pocket sevens with a possible straight on the board.  She saw through me and took me out with her pocket queens.

Steve Stepp (AKA Scuba Steve, Scott)  was on fire and took first place.

1st      Steve Stepp  $80
2nd      Matt Davis   $40
3rd      Scott Nardi  $10
Bubble   Ron Fechner

The Battle For The Bracelet

$20 Buy-In + $2 to pay for bracelet
14 Players

This was a brutal game.  The theme continued with the river hitting one outers and miracle cards.

The blinds went up quickly and once we got down to six chips were just passed back and forth with no one going out.  It wasn't until the blinds were crazy, around 3000/6000 that players were eliminated.  The game was going on forever.

Finally at 5,000/10,000 the perfect storm hit.  Keith pushed all-in with AJ, Todd went all-in with AK and I did the same with pocket tens.  We had no choice as the blinds were soon to go 10,000/20,000.  The flop and turn hit no one.  Todd rivered a King and Keith was knocked out on the bubble and putting me in third.

Todd had a commanding chip stack but equalized when a miracle river card came to give Henry a straight.  The game went back and forth for a while but with the blinds being so big, Todd's aggression won it.

The game seemed to go on forever as it finished at 2:15am.

Congratulations to Todd for the first ever bracelet winner.

1st      Todd         $160
2nd      George Lee   $80
3rd      UPS Randy    $40
Bubble   Keith Brown

Todd with his winnings.
Overall it was a great night.  The sloppy joes were delicious and everyone had a good time.

Ideas For This Website

I've received a few responses so far on this site and one had a suggestion that we add a message board so that we could talk about the games and such.  I'm open to any ideas.

As always you can comment on any post and add your own thoughts.  Just click on Comments.

This is the groups' website, not mine.  Let me know what you want.
